Plants vs. Zombies: Armagarden - Solar Flare

Description

Lately I felt Solar Flare and Green Shadow's Armagarden designs looked pretty...lacking. So I decided to have them redesigned. This isn't really a retcon, for I have an addition to their bios that explains their new designs.

EDIT: I've decided that the designs are now indeed retcons. So they were created with these body designs from the start, not as an update later on in their lives.

EDIT 2: Made her eyes a yellow tint to match the PvZH design.

Name: Solar Flare (Real Name: Taiyoken, Taiyo for short)
Species: Hero Unit, designed with modified Sunflower GW Unit DNA
Rank: Commander
Age: 1 (as of October 18, 2017)

A little trivia: Solar Flare wears different top clothing from time-to-time. From the t-shirt you see here, to a tank top, to a long-sleeved shirt.

I saw the ending of PvZ 3, where Sunflower is saved by the Magic Beans after Zomboss corrupts the Dawn Sun into the Midnight Sun.

And then I thought of a headcanon for Solar Flare;

The world is governed by two forces; The Dawning Light, and the Dusken Miasma. The Zombies serve the Dusk with Edgar Zomboss as their adversary, and the Sunflowers serve as the Plants' link to the Dawning Light, which grants them sentience and thought.

The Light knew that eventually, the Miasma would be used to corrupt its most powerful artifact, the Dawn Sun, and so it used its power and combined it with the magic of the Roses to create a light that would never fall to such a fate, a brighter Dawn Sun incapable of burning with the Miasma's darkness in its heart... the Brilliant Dawn.

The Dawn Sun was locked in the Vault. However, to hide the Brilliant Dawn from the Dusk, who would surely find a simple vault, the Dawn decided to seal the Brilliant Dawn inside of the hearts of five plants; most prominently, a sunflower. The second largest fragment was granted to the most powerful of the Roses for her part in its creation, and the three other fragments were given to other plants; a Grimrose, as well as two former Key Holders; the Bonk Choy and the Peashooter. However, no ordinary sunflower could handle the sheer light of the Brilliant Dawn, leaving the Dawn at a worrying impasse.

Ironically, it was Zomboss who provided a suitable vassal for the Brilliant Dawn; his Hero-tron 5000's malfunction empowered a Sunflower with not only an eternal fire, which was merely a spark compared to what she has now, but resilience enough to handle the intense Dawnlight; just what the Dawning Light needed. Quickly, the Dawn made its move, imbuing the Brilliant Dawn into the Sunflower and boosting her power. At the same time, the fragments held by the Rose, the Grimrose, and the two Key Holders resonated, giving their own powers a boost. Grimrose could regenerate her power to drag those of the Dusk into an eternal abyss, Rose's magical prowess became unmatched, Green Shadow's precision and sight became sharp as a Cattail's homing, and Grass Knuckles could punch through solid steel!

When the crisis was resolved, Solar Flare and the other holders met up, and when they learned of one Sunflower's quest to find and harness the Dawn Sun, they knew they would have to step in, not just as heroes, but as the Knights of Dawn, holders of the greatest light known to plantkind!

(and yes, this kinda spiralled towards others. Saving the world is no solo job, after all, especially when mystical relics get involved.)
