PvZ: Armagarden - Zombie Head Design Concept Art

Something that should've be done months ago...finally after countless art focusing on Plants, we finally have something featuring their sworn enemies: the Zombies.

These head designs were part of a poll I held on Twitter which has since ended, debating which head design should be used. The left one was the winner - to be honest, I was leaning more towards that design due to the more simplified detail, plus it doesn't have a ridiculous amount of teeth like the right design.

The purpose of the Zombies in Armagarden is to make them look a little more scary rather than goofy to fit the AU's dark tone. They look a bit more skeleton-esque, which is good for the dark theme. This head design does not apply to all Zombies - the Zombies with different head designs will still have a skull-esque design to them, only they would retain some of their original face design features like the big chins for the Superhero Zombies. They also have eyelids like the Pirate class does in GW2 so they can have more expression variety with them - I feel that with the skull-esque mouth, it takes away from the mouth expression variety, so the eyelids could make up for that.

I got a bit of inspiration from this pic here which depicted a Foot Soldier Zombie with a similar face design.


I hope when the mood for drawing PvZ-related content comes, Dan and I can focus a little more on the Zombies rather than spamming Plant-related drawings like I've been the past couple of years. I can't help it really, they're my favourite team!
